Fake News versus Real News
There has been a lot of media interest recently about the use of Fake News. Fake News takes the form of a hoax, propaganda or the spread of deliberately misleading information and is spread like any conventional news by newspapers, TV news broadcasts, news websites and social media etc. Fake News is often used to damage or discredit someone or an organisation or party for political or financial gain.
Historically there has always been some use of fake news but in recent years it seems to have become a normal practise in our society. Often the effects of items of fake news will be short lived, say a few days or a few years or maybe until the next political party takes power.
There is however a variety of Fake News which has been going on for a very long time which has been deceiving people for years, causing them to live in ignorance for their whole lives. This type of fake news has spawned “facts” out of things that are simply not true.
There will be much discussion as we carry on the journey about all manner of fake news which deceives us and looking at the real truth instead.
